3-on-3 charity hockey tourney Saturday This St. Patrick's Day, expect a lot of hockey players in Kerr Village. The area will be home to the 3on3 Road Hockey Tournament on Kerr Street, between Rebecca Street and Lakeshore Road. The Saturday (March 17) morning event begins at 8 a.m. with a sign-in, followed by a pancake breakfast at 8:45 a.m. The hockey tournament will take place shortly after. The annual tournament is a fundraiser for local charities and will support two organizations that help some of the community's vulnerable citizens. Funds raised will go to Kerr Street Ministries and Home Suite Hope. People were asked to register early with a team fee of $150. Since its inception in 2006, the event has raised more than $50,000 for charity, but organizers say it is more than a fundraising event. "It's a community builder," said Kerr Village BIA executive director Richard Messer. "A venue like this one truly helps to create a feeling of belonging and a sense of neighbourhood pride."
