Arrest made in robberies A 33-year-old Oakville man is facing multiple charges in connection with a pair of recent pharmacy robberies in Burlington and Milton. On Feb. 17, Halton police investigated a robbery at the Medexpress Pharmacy on Brant Street in Burlington. During the incident, two men threatened the employee with a handgun and left after receiving a quantity of prescription drugs, mostly OxyContin. On Feb. 23, suspects attempted to rob the Derry Pharmacy on Derry Road in Milton, but left without obtaining any drugs. Through their investigation, police believe the same people had taken part in both incidents. Between March 6 and 9, Halton police made three arrests in connection with the robberies and executed search warrants at two residences in Brampton and Milton and at one hotel room in Milton. During the searches, investigators allegedly recovered some of the drugs taken during the robbery and a replica handgun. M Teacher charged with indecency A 36-year-old Oakville man has been arrested for allegedly committing an indecent act. The suspect, a teacher at Milton's Hawthorne Village Public School, turned himself in to police Wednesday afternoon after allegedly exposing himself to a 15-year-old boy for a sexual purpose earlier this year. The accused has also been active in numerous children and youth groups in the community. Charged with committing an indecent act and mischief is Scott Dempster.
