Dr. Jane Wilkinson addresses the crowd at an event to celebrate the approval of Milton District Hospital's expansion project. Dr. Jane Wilkinson has been named as the Maternal/Newborn Clinical Lead for the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network's (LHIN) new Regional Maternal, Newborn, Child and Youth Clinical Integration Program. Dr. Wilkinson is an obstetrician at Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) Milton District Hospital and currently holds roles as both Associate Chief of Staff and Acting Co-Chief of Surgery at the Hospital. The Regional Maternal, Newborn, Child and Youth Clinical Integration Program is a new initiative that the Mississauga Halton LHIN has undertaken in an effort to coordinate, and regionalize maternal, newborn and paediatric care across the region. A key enabler to this program will be those of the Clinical Lead roles, which our own Dr. Wilkinson has been appointed. She will be working with Dr. Ann Bayliss, Chief of Paediatrics at the recently merged Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Care, who was named the Child/Youth Clinical Lead for this project. Together, they will guide the ongoing planning and implementation processes and play a major role in developing and driving the program forward - ensuring the implementation of common standards of care and best practices. The Credit Valley Hospital site of the merged Credit Valley and Trillium Health Care will serve as the lead organization for Maternal, Newborn, Child and Youth Clinical Integration, and is the designated regional paediatric and perinatal centre for Mississauga-Halton. By working together, the LHIN and local health service providers continue to implement strategies to improve access to quality care for local residents. On behalf of HHS, we would like to extend a heartfelt congratulation to Dr. Wilkinson on this outstanding achievement!
