14 The IFP · Halton Hills, Thursday, March 29, 2012 Teenage Kicks release second EP Georgetown man films mini-documentary on the band Halton Hills band Teenage Kicks released their second EP, Be On My Side recently and a mini-documentary on the group filmed by a Georgetown friend is helping the group garner national attention. Sean Egerton Foreman, directed, shot and edited the six-minute documentary on the group which is made up of Peter Van Helvoort (vocals/guitar), Christian Turner (guitar), Patrick Marchent (guitar), Jeff Van Helvoort (bass) and Cameron Brunt (drums). Photographer Chris Payne of Acton provided still photographs used in the video. The band is made up of all local members with the Van Helvoorts hailing from Acton while the other members are from Georgetown. The documentary was recently profiled by CBC music blogger Chris Kelly. "We wanted to make a documentary that dealt with how a rock `n roll band survives in the Internet-based music industry of today," said Foreman, 23, an independent filmmaker. "By focusing on Teenage Kicks we SEAN EGERTON wanted to explore FOREMAN if rock `n roll has a future in the music industry or if it will simply fall to the fate of becoming an outdated music genre that is celebrated but not progressed upon."
