Mannell, Kathleen (Kay) (née Kathleen (Kay)Cook) (Died)
- Full Text
MANNELL, Kathleen (Kay) (nee Cook) of Burlington (formerly of Oakville and Grand Bend), passed peacefully from this earth, with family by her side, on January 28, 2012, two weeks before her 94th birthday. "A mother is the truest friend we have. When trials fall upon us, when adversity takes the place of prosperity, when friends desert us, when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavour by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." ~Washington Irving Kay's influence on her family cannot be measured, nor captured in words. She provided guidance when it was required, advice when it was prudent, consolation when it was needed, support and forgiveness regardless of circumstance. Predeceased in 2008 by her husband Laurie, Kay will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Terry (and wife, Judy) and Bob (and wife, Diane), her daughters Gail (Nichols, and husband John), Sharon, and Margo (Karolyi, and husband John), her twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Everything we are we owe to her and her endless supply of unconditional love. Her spirit lives on in each of us. In keeping with Kay's wishes, cremation and a private family service will been held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in her memory.
