GRANT, Ian A. Peacefully at the age of 70 on February 8, 2012 at Ian Anderson House in Oakville. Devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather and warm friend. Ian was deeply in love with his wife Marilynne (Orr) (deceased) and so proud of his family. Ian will be forever remembered by son Fraser (Christine) and daughter Heather (Marc Lakmaaker). He was the proud grandfather to Madeline, Charlie, Ayla, Matéas and Aenea and the caring brother to his sisters Leslie and Alison and their families. Ian was born in 1941 in Windsor, Ontario and was particularly proud of his Windsor roots. He attended Appleby College, graduating in 1960, excelling in academics, cadets, and football which he continued to play for the McGill Redmen. Earning his MBA from Western, Ian then spent 30 years working in the financial industry on Bay Street in Toronto. A lover of golf, the Canadiens, cottage life, all things Scottish, Knox Presbyterian Church, and most of all his family, Ian led a wonderfully complete life and will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street, Oakville.
