Chapman paints in wax: contrasting the layer of vibrant colours against the thick textures of rocks, wool and bark. "What is fascinating about this pigmentembedded-in-wax technique is that, even after studying these paintings for long periods of time, the viewer can discover new details and levels of meaning," says Chapman.
