This year also marks 100 years since the late Arthur Murray stepped onto the dance floor to teach people how to do what he did best. The quality aspect is important as the group hopes to excite its audiences about classical music and not turn it off. And, of course, the programs must be educational. "Everything we do has an entertainment content and an education content. We just don't put it on so the kids can be amused. We try to teach them something," Morrison said. The concerts, aside from featuring music, also feature storytelling components. Its recent Viva Vivaldi presentation brought Antonio Vivaldi back from the past with a time machine so the young audience members at the concert could learn more about him. Aside from doing shows and concerts, the committee puts on a poster concert each year, in which children are asked to draw an orchestral instrument or instruments. There are three age categories: JK/SK, Grades 1-3, and Grades 4-6. This year's poster contest has an entry deadline of May 25. The other outreach committee members are Klaudia Mirossayova, Brigitte Cormier, Ron McKee and Anne Morton.
