- The first photograph in this record is an informal one taken circa 1929 at the Hoey house just north of Highway 5 on the west side of Sixth Line.
Annie is on the right, only "Jack" is remembered of the name of the tall man standing at the back left, the young lad is Wilson Hoey with his father James behind him, the man sitting in front of Jack is Bill Orchard who worked with James, Norm McCann is the man in the hat.
The second photograph is of the house. The house was actually moved from Lyons Lane, where someone had wanted to get rid of it. The people in the primary picture are standing in front of the tree on the left side of the house. The land was purchased from Hoey family relative, David Hoey who had owned the whole area and was a beef cattle farmer. Wilson would have walked to Munn's School. - Notes
- Annie and James met at a wedding in Ireland in 1922. Shortly afterwards, James emigrated to Trafalgar Township. Annie and James corresponded and in time, Annie came to Canada, too. James walked from Sixth Line to meet her in Toronto at the train but we don't know how he brought her back to Sixth Line. Meeting her at the train was their second meeting.
Norman McCann was known as "Dynamite McCann" because he did a lot of well-digging and the rocks were often blasted out. - Subject(s)
