PURDY, Marlene June Passed away peacefully, after a long courageous battle with cancer, at the Village of Tansley Woods, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in her 7 4 t h y e a r. M a r l e n e w a s t h e t r e a s u r e d m o t h e r t o Ti m P u r d y (Carrie) of Oakville and grandmother to Taylor and Shalayne, who will lovingly miss their grandma. Dear sister to Una May Pierce of Oklahoma, Meta of Kingston, Pauline (Bill) Moran of Tennessee, John (Fran) of Burlington, Lynn (Ron) Smith of Sundridge, Rick ( B a r b ) o f Wa t e r l o o , J o a n ( B i l l ) Powell of Peterborough, Peter (Helen) of Burlington, and Don (Lisa) of Calgary. She is predeceased by her parents Alice Doreen and Percy (Chick) Purdy, brother Ron and brother-in-law Ed Pierce. Marlene will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews and the many friends she made during her life. Marlene spent many years At Beam Vacuum, Murray Motors and dedicated many years supporting the MADD program throughout Oakville and Burlington areas. She enjoyed singing with the Burlington Seniors Choir and in her spare time she painted beautiful scenes of nature.
