Venue 266, a casual/ urban fine dining restaurant is unlike any other in the area. "We decided to open a new concept restaurant in downtown Oakville," Venue 266 Joe Lavers explains of his decision to open the restaurant with business partner Nattia Battista. "There was definitely a need for casual dining in the area that we wanted to fill." The restaurant has had a warm welcoming from the community since opening their doors on Friday, April 13. Venue 266 offers two different dining experiences; a casual lunch menu full of soups, salads and sandwiches that allow their customers to be in and out in 30 minutes, and a dinner menu that has an urban, fine dining feel complete with steak, seafood, vegetarian and pasta options. "All of our servers are professionally trained singers, and every 20 minutes they group together and sing anything from operetta, classical to pop." Lavers, who has been in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years, knows the importance of having strong kitchen leadership and is proud to have two, professionally trained chefs in his kitchen. Executive Chef Lan Hoang and Sous Chef Doug Sabine both have worked in downtown previously and understand what it is their customers are looking for when dining at Venue 266. "These two chefs put out amazing dishes, people just love it," he says.
