Man dies in truck crash on Ford property A 58-year-old Hamilton man has died after a medically-related car crash on the Ford plant property early Tuesday morning. Halton Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision Tuesday at the Ford plant in Oakville. At approximately 3:30 a.m., a Ford employee was driving on The Canadian Road within the Ford property when his Ford F150 pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree. He was found by a fellow employee shortly after the accident. Ford security and emergency personnel quickly responded to the crash site. The driver was rushed by EMS to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. As a result, members of the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating the incident. Preliminary indications are that the driver suffered some type of medical episode that caused him to drive off the road. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors. No other people were injured. The roadway was closed for several hours while the CRU completed its at-scene investigation. The general public was not affected by this road closure as it was on Ford property. The Oakville Ford plant manufactures the Lincoln MKX, Ford Edge, the Ford Flex and has approximately 3,500 employees working various shifts. 3 · Wednesday, May 2, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Inside Opinion............................................6 Artscene.........................................17 Sports.............................................19 Classified.......................................21 Full Delivery: Real Estate, Onward Manufacturing, Delacor Studio, Kingsway Pharmacy, JYSK, Rona, Sure Lock Interlocking, PW Stone, National Sports, Shopping News, Forever Young, Peoples Jewellers, Sears, Home Depot, Staples, Sheridan Nurseries For home delivery & customer service call 905-845-9742 Mon., Tues. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed., Thu., and Fri. 9 a.m.-7 p.m. (open for calls only after 5 p.m.) Closed Sat. and Sun.
