The newly-built ER department is slated to open next March and after the move into the new 14,000 sq. ft. addition is complete, renovation will get underway in the ER's former 4,270 sq. ft. location to make way for the Diagnostic Imaging department, with all the work expected to be completed by midsummer. The groundbreaking for the $14.2 million hospital Redevelopment Project is set for May 29 with work to begin in early June. The new ER space will be located adjacent to the current ER (on the east end of the building), and the new Diagnostic Imaging area in the current ER will bring together X-ray, ultrasound, bone densitometry, mammography and the CT Scanner into one designated space instead of various locations throughout the hospital.
