Fraser Direct holds new Canadian Tire book sale on May 12 for Old Armoury fundraiser donates to Holy Cross Food for Thought After a four year hiatus, Fraser Direct is holding its Charity Book Sale on Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fraser Direct's publishing clients are donating all of the brand new books, so low pricing ($5 for hardcovers and $3 for soft covers) is possible. There will be art books, kids books, coffee table books and design books. The sale is being hosted at the new home of Globe Productions, a local musical theatre group who moved into the Old Armoury last Fall and 100 per cent of the money goes to Globe. The building, built in 1866, is being brought back to its original condition. Jenn Edwards (centre, right), Promotions Manager of Georgetown Canadian Tire, recently presented Holy Cross School Food for Thought chair Tracey Noonan with a cheque for $1,000 to offset the costs of the program. The pair were surrounded by Food for Thought volunteers during the presentation. Photo by Ted Brown 21 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Thursday, May 3, 2012 The Regional Make Moments Matter - WALK for ALS! Municipality of Halton www.halton.ca Notice of Halton Region's 2012 Comprehensive Employment Survey The Regional Municipality of Halton will be conducting its annual Comprehensive Employment Survey. The information collected is vital for monitoring the Region's economic health, as well as aiding in policy and decision-making. It is essential background data for forecasting and planning the Region's infrastructure and services for Halton residents and businesses. Between May and September 2012, a team of surveyors from the Region's Planning Services Division will visit each and every business establishment in Halton to gather information about the number of employees working at each location and the type of employment taking place there. The surveyors will wear a Halton Region shirt and cap, each bearing the Halton Region logo, as well as a visible photo ID card that identiÍes them as part of the "Halton Employment Survey Team 2012". All data collected from the survey will be grouped together and released to the public as statistical highlights of economic and employment patterns and trends. Individual business information will not be identiÍable or published in the survey results. Survey results will be shared with our Local Municipalities and used for planning and municipal related purposes. We plan to publish an Employment Survey Bulletin highlighting overall employment patterns and trends in early 2013. The success of this important survey depends upon the assistance and co-operation of the Region's business community. If you have any questions or comments regarding the survey, please dial 311 or contact Planning Services at 905-825-6000 ext. 7206.
