The week recognizes the contributions made by the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services related to transportation, water, wastewater and waste management. Over the next four years in Halton, public works staff will play a critical role as $1.7 billion is invested into community infrastructure projects as part of the Building a Better Halton infrastructure plan," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. Carr said Halton public works staff provide a safe, well-managed transportation network, which includes 950 km of regional roads, 213 bridges and 220 signalized intersections.
