Taking glass to New York exhibit By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Recent Sheridan College graduate Andrew Beauchamp has taken his glass artwork to New York. The 24-year-old Oakvillian is a featured artist in the Raw + Unfiltered show at the Heller Gallery, where he is showcasing his glass fine art sculptures. The exhibit is part of the 2012 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. "I'm very excited," he said. "The show is put on by the American Design Club, a design club based in New York. The gallery it happens to be showing at is primarily a glass gallery and quite an important and well-known one in terms of glass." Beauchamp graduated from Sheridan's Craft and Design: Glass program in 2011. He's currently a teaching assistant at the school, where he helps new students work on glass. Aside from doing the T.A. work, the Iroquois Ridge High School graduate went into the field of glass sculpture fine art, which he is exhibiting at the New York show. HappyAnniversary!
