Legion members Morley Barnes, Shel Lawr, Lorne Hunter and Len Herbert catch up before the Georgetown ceremony. More than a thousand Halton Hills students gathered at Georgetown's Remembrance Park and the Glen Williams Cenotaph last month to participate in the annual Candlelight Tributes. This year marked the tenth anniversary of the Candlelight Tributes, which celebrate the end of World War II in Europe. The students placed candles on the Georgetown and Glen Williams cenotaphs as a symbolic passing of the torch of remembrance and greeted the veterans in attendance. "The Candlelight Tributes are a chance to thank those who died and those who dared to die," says Candlelight Tributes chairman Barry Timleck. "You will feel good and the veterans will feel even better." Thank you, veterans.
