I;:ÃEEA ÃEOÃ7B; Ruth McMulkin and Margaret Pepper pick up some summer reading. Nice weather drew the people of Halton Hills down to the Robert C. Austin Public Works Yard on Trafalgar Road for the Town of Halton Hills' annual Earth Day Celebration on April 28. Residents dropped by the Public Works Yard to drop off electronic waste and hazardous materials, pick up compost and woodchips, buy trees, enjoy a delicious barbecue and more. Hundreds of avid readers woke up bright and early on April 28 to get the best selection at the Canadian Federation of University Women Georgetown's Used Book and Toy Sale. Local bibliophiles cycled through the Christ the King cafeteria where they stocked up for summer, picking up gently used novels, non-fiction books, children's literature, movies, music and toys. The sale, now in its 41st year, raised approximately $5,000 for the CFUW's local scholarship fund. Photos by Andrea Lefebvre ABOVE: Harold Roehrig picks up a few trees at the Works Yard.
