Tailor made. Really THE BIG In 1961, under the partnership of Sean Garvey and John Willmott, Garvey & Willmott Men's Shops were born. Launching what is the only standing location today in downtown Oakville on Lakeshore Road East, Garvey & Willmott would eventually become Garvey's Fine Men's Wear when John went out on his own to pursue other opportunities. In 2006, after a lifetime of hard work Sean Garvey surprised everyone and retired from the trade and sold the business to Harold and Yvonne Lenfesty. A long time globetrotter, entrepreneur, and customer of Sean's, Harold had found roots in Oakville and decided it was finally time to settle down. Under Harold and Yvonne's stewardship, Garvey's is proud to continue the legacy of the independent menswear store. Still a family owned and operated business, Garvey's Fine Men's Wear is run today by their daughter, Andrea Lenfesty along with the longtime team of seasoned professionals including Bill Wade, Bill Townsend, Mike Moroz Jr. and Joe Pilla, the resident Master Tailor. While fashion is the primary focus, service is Garvey's specialty. "Clients come to know what to expect when they come to Garvey's," Andrea explains. "Our relationships with our customers is our main focus. There is an element of trust between the customer, sales team and tailor to ensure that the client is always impeccable and appropriate to the occassion." "It is important that everyone who comes into Garvey's feels like they are coming home. We are fortunate to be able to share important milestones in our customers lives; graduations, first jobs, weddings and birthdays" she adds. "It is a family environment where everyone is welcomed, including the dogs." Celebrating their 51st year in business, Garvey's continues to adapt to the changes in lifestyle and the shifts in fashion. With an extensive selection of high quality clothing and an on-site master tailor they pride themselves in delivering both work attire and weekend wear. "It is all about fit when it comes to men's wear," she explains. "Many of our lines are made in Canada and we are always looking to expand wherever possible. We are known for our high-quality products, if they don't meet our standards we don't carry them. Our customers are professional people with high standards and many alternatives in the market so it is imperative that we keep pushing ourselves to raise the bar." The nearly 5,000 sq.ft. store is open seven days a week and will be celebrating the Downtown Oakville Sidewalk Sale running this Thursday June 14th to Sunday June 17th with store-wide savings of up to 70 per cent off. So, if you're curious to see this iconic menswear store for yourself now is the perfect time to come in. 70 BIG SALE OFF 183 Lakeshore Road East Downtown Oakville www.garveys.ca 905.845.8911 EVERYTHING UP TO %
