So too, however, was the Titans' desire to win a provincial high school soccer championship on hometown soil. Tori Edgar ensured that desire trumped fatigue. The Trinity keeper concluded a brilliant Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) quad-A tournament showing in the final, keeping Pickering St. Mary off the scoreboard through regulation and overtime before denying three of six Monarchs attempts in penalty kicks. Edgar's final stop, a diving effort to her right, clinched the Titans' 4-3 shootout win and the school's first OFSAA soccer gold in school history. "I like penalty shots. I've always liked penalty shots," said Edgar. That confident, aggressive mentality was on display throughout Saturday's final as Edgar repeatedly left the confines of her crease to challenge for loose balls or snatch corner kicks out of the air. "No fear," the Grade 12 student said. "If I'm going to come out, I've got to get there. I'm the last one. It's on me." It certainly was, at least after her teammates had drained themselves physically and emotionally earlier in the tournament.
