Many people came out to try out various activities. Dr. Gabor Madarasz will be at the Centre on Friday, June 22 from 10-11 a.m. to talk about losing weight and stay healthy. You will learn from him what your body really needs, what foods can prevent disease, what the Corporate Food Industry doesn't want you to know, and how you can eat more and still lose weight. This event is free and open to members and friends of the Centre. As a fundraiser, the Centre is selling draw tickets, $2 each or 3/$5. First prize is a Blackberry, second prize is two $100 restaurant gift cards, and third prize is a bistro set. Tickets are available at Reception and watch for us at the Farmers' Market and in the Mall. This is your Centre and needs your support. I hope you have taken advantage of our new Seniors Centre's section on the Town website. I found if I opened Internet Explorer, typed in www.haltonhills. ca/seniors in the address bar, it came up immediately. I then saved it to My Favourites on Internet Explorer and now our website is at my fingertips. I'm sure there is still room to take part in a free "Maximize Your Health" series running for six weeks, Wednesday afternoons, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., June 20 to July 25 at the Centre. These workshops deal with action planning, problem solving for chronic conditions.
