Nakasuji had two goals and three assists on the evening, while McQueen added an assist to his threegoal output. Sam Neeb (four helpers) also had four points for the Buzz, which built a 7-2 lead by the first intermission and traded goals with the Saints the rest of the way. Other key offensive contributors for Oakville included Alex Whiffing (two goals, one assist), Mike Beirgard (one goal, two assists), Greg Campbell (three assists), Ryan Cavanagh (two goals) and Eddie Renaud (two goals, one assist). Colton Watkinson also scored for the Buzz, which made the most of its 30 shots in the contest. Oakville netminder Ian Duffy made 38 saves to notch the win. The best-of-five series was scheduled to resume last night (Tuesday) in Newmarket before returning to Oakville Friday for Game 3, an 8 p.m. start at Glen Abbey. Oakville (8-5), the St. Catharines Saints (8-4) and the Brooklin Merchants (7-31-1) are all tied for first place in the seventeam league. Oakville bounced back the following day with a 7-6 win in Sarnia over the Beavers. Mike Gillan, Stu Gordon, Nicholas Grasby, Kyle Andrews and Shane Scott scored for the Titans in the loss to Norwood.
