Sheridan to induct three individuals, two teams to Hall of Fame Sheridan College's Athletics and Recreation Department will induct three individuals and two teams into its Hall of Fame this fall. Steve Blundy, Pat Blundy, Luciano DeLuca, the 1976-77 men's hockey team and the 1990-91 men's soccer squad will be officially inducted Sept. 29 during the school's homecoming festivities. Steve Blundy was Sheridan's athlete of the year in 1968 and accumulated the most coaching wins (128) in Sheridan men's hockey history. Pat Blundy has coordinated the recreation and fitness programs for over 20 years while serving as varsity coordinator for women's volleyball and hockey. DeLuca is Sheridan's all-time goals leader in men's soccer, scoring 31 for the Bruins from 1985 to 1987. DeLuca scored 10 goals in his freshman season to lead the club to a 9-1-2 Ontario College Athletics Association (OCAA) West record. The 1976-77 men's hockey team compiled a 15-3 OCAA record. The double blue managed to win the conference title, but ended up losing to Red Deer in the national title game. The 1990-91 men's soccer team finished with a 6-2-2 OCAA record and managed an impressive playoff run. The Bruins qualified for the national championship in Truro, Nova Scotia where they won their group. They ended up losing in the championship game to Capilano. Sheridan athletic director Jim Flack praised the group for their dedication to Bruins sports. "We couldn't be prouder to have this cross-section of individuals ready to join our Hall of Fame later this fall," Flack said.
