One student representative was selected from each elementary and secondary school in the Catholic school system to receive the Sharing The Spirit Student Award of Excellence. The honour is given to students who best demonstrate outstanding qualities in Catholic leadership, family commitment, involvement in school affairs, involvement in community activities and dedication to a difficult situation or task. Also recognized at the same awards ceremony were two recipients of the board-wide Special Education Advisory Committee's (SEAC) Spirit of Inclusion Awards -- Oakville's Christian Christou of Mother Teresa School, representing theelementarypanelofstudentsandGeorgetown's Nicole Walker of Christ the King Catholic Secondary School, from the secondary panel. Megan has an excellent rapport with all teachers and students, and is involved in various aspects of school life. · Sophie Schneider, St. Bernadette: Sophie demonstrates Catholic leadership qualities on a daily basis not only through her high degree of commitment to her studies but through her leadership on Catholic student council, her second Speak-up initiative and as an Altar server at school mass/liturgies. The house was used as the church manse for Walton Memorial United Church for over five decades, playing a significant role in the development and activities of the church.
