Georgetown Seniors Centre's raffle is an important fundraiser By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre And the heat goes on and on! Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets when we were set up at the Georgetown Farmers' Market. We will be back there to sell more on July 28. If you haven't purchased your tickets you will have another opportunity to do so when we are back at the Georgetown Farmers' Market on July 28. This raffle is an important fundraiser for the Centre. The tickets offer you a chance to win a Blackberry, $200 food gift certificates, and a Bistro set donated by our local Canadian Tire Store. You can purchase your raffle tickets at the Reception Desk at the Centre or from a Centre Board Member. They sell for $2 each or 3 for $5 or $15 for a book giving you a free ticket. You are asked, whether a member or not, to show your support for your Georgetown Centre. Another thank you to all seniors who came out to the Council meeting on Monday, July 9 to show support for our request for a new location for our Centre. We did not receive the answer we were hoping for but a promise for adequate recreation space for growth. 25 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Thursday, July 19, 2012 Stay tuned to the fall for news on how that venture goes! And still the merrygo-round goes round and round! If you haven't done so, why not venture out to the Centre on a Wednesday morning about 10 a.m. and join the Mingle and Chat group. There is no planned program and no one ever knows what topics will be discussed or what jokes surface but you are bound to leave with a smile and probably made a new friend. Terri tells me that Longo's are coming to the Centre during Open House Week, September 10 to 14, to put on a cooking demonstration with lots of sampling. Watch for more information on that coming up. This is your last week to sign up for Ragtime at the Shaw Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-lake on Wednesday Sept. 5. Your cost of $128 includes transportation, lunch at Beacon Hotel in Jordan, Theatre seat and all gratuities. Please call Florence at 905-873-1210. l ov e yo u r h a i r this summer 905.702.9982 redlemon.ca
