Held on Thursday, July 12 at the Beverly Golf and Country Club, the event resulted in Marz's total contribution of more than $185,000 since partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society. Participants in the tournament were treated to a gorgeous and sunny day and were in great spirits throughout the fundraiser. In addition to a silent auction that included great prizes, Marz Homes, in conjunction with Jones DeLaurier Insurance, awarded $25,000 for sinking a hole-in-one on any of the five par-three holes. In addition, golfers who shot closest to the pin on those holes were eligible for a $100,000 shoot-out. Long-running tournament participant J. Bruce Robinson was the sole winner of the $25,000 hole-in-one challenge, resulting in the first ever hole-in- Canadian Cancer Society's Golf for Cure Tournament an incredible success one since Marz's involvement. "We were proud and thrilled to see a regular supporter of this tournament win himself $25,000," says Dan Gabriele, Marz Homes Vice President. "It's also just so affirming to see a great number of people in the local community coming together to contribute. The tournament seems to gain more and more momentum every year." The Golf for a Cure tournament raises funds for cancer research and community programming in the Hamilton area. Since Marz Homes' involvement with this yearly event, as well as their sponsorship of the annual Great Ride & Stride, the company has raised more than $185,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
