Georgetown Hospital is Under Construction! Visitors to Georgetown Hospital will have noticed a number of construction vehicles along the Hospital's driveway and parking lots lately. Crews are preparing the site in anticipation of the start of construction on the Emergency Department expansion. This work includes upgrading and updating most of the underground services, expanding the main parking lot along Princess Anne Drive and reconfiguring the internal roadways to allow for the temporary relocation of the ambulance entrance during construction. Areas under construction are fenced and clearly identified. Patients and visitors are asked to observe all signage and avoid any construction areas and equipment. Halton Healthcare Services extends thanks to our staff, physicians, volunteers, patients, visitors and neighbours for your patience and understanding. The addition of a CT scanner and the expansion and revitalization of the Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging Departments will greatly enhance the care provided at Georgetown Hospital, ensuring that residents of Halton Hills have access to high quality hospital services in their community. New Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Magnet Arrives Halton Healthcare Services is upgrading its MRI at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). The new magnet for a replacement MRI at OTMH arrived in early July. Onlookers watched as a crane carried out what seemed like two effortless lifts, one to remove the nine year old, four ton magnet, and the second, to replace it with a new technologically more advanced model, the new Siemens Aera. The new MRI will be operational at the current hospital by early August and will be transferred to the New Oakville Hospital when it opens in late 2015.
