Tri City (6-2 during the regular season) held the Longhorns (3-5) to 24 yards of net offence in the contest while racking up 365 of its own. The Outlaws led 23-0 at halftime and 37-0 in the third quarter before the Longhorns got on the scoreboard with a 70-yard kickoff return by Aron Froese. Mark Demerling threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Chris Hibbert later in the quarter, pulling Oakville to within 37-13, but the Outlaws responded with another touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Justin Boudreau had a gamehigh nine tackles for the Longhorns. Sergio Giusti kicked a convert to account for Oakville's other point. Tri City will visit the Ottawa Invaders (6-2) in one of two NFC semifinal games this weekend. The Toronto Titans (8-0) will host the Sarnia Imperials (4-4) in the other semifinal. Bourne inks with Steelheads Damian Bourne will be playing OHL hockey close to home this season. The first-round pick of the Mississauga Steelheads (formerly the St. Michael's Majors) in this year's OHL draft, Bourne officially signed with the Steelheads last week. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound left wing played last season with the OHL Cup champion Mississauga Rebels, collecting 79 points and 89 penalty minutes in 62 games. "Damian has all the skills to be a valuable contributor with our hockey club," said Steelheads head coach and general manager James Boyd. "He is a big mobile forward with a strong work ethic.
