Police said problems began when a red Jeep, headed westbound, attempted to pass the line of vehicles held up behind the truck painting the road. The truck driver used his vehicle to block the Jeep and got out to speak to its driver. He was subsequently taken to hospital in Huntsville and later released. The driver of the Jeep allegedly drove away, however, the incident was witnessed by an off-duty police officer who assisted in the ensuing investigation. Wanda Wakelin, 46, of Oakville has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and dangerous driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
