Why are they not adopted? In the hurly burly of multiple cat dwelling, it is often the more in your face, outgoing cats that people fall in love with to the detriment of those who are shyer, more reserved, or are not doing well because of long-term living in a Shelter facility. They have learned to hide their person- They're a team now! 23 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Thursday, August 16, 2012 alities (and often themselves) to cope with the stress of multiple living. Just as humans are all different so are our cats. Some of our long-term cats do get a little plump because they do not have the chance to exercise but this should streamline beautifully once more exercise is available in a home of their own. Any one of these beauties would glide into family living bearing in mind that it may take a little longer to settle into a home or equally, it may not....surprises happen all the time. Give these girls and boy a chance at a forever home, call 519-833-2287 or email adoptions@uppercredit.com N an a ! Dave and Eva Carney of Georgetown are thrilled to announce the engagement of Hillary Margaret Carney & Marc James Maguire son of Rita and Jamie Maguire of Mississauga Peanut: (6 years old): Arrived June 2010...Two years of endless waiting! Although a little withdrawn at first, attractive Peanut is really a very affectionate girl; as soon as someone starts petting her she is a purring bundle of love! Peanut shows her maternal side with her love for the kittens. She seizes every opportunity to "mother" if they venture into her cage and delights in grooming them and generally look after their needs. Peanut can be adventurous if she thinks no one is watching her and the caregivers feel her personality would fully reveal if she was the only household cat or living with a younger cat that she could mother. Binga: (2 years old). Arrived January 2011: If you are looking for a feline companion who would suit most families look no further than Binga! Astonishingly easy going, loving and friendly to humans and other cats. Binga is a well-rounded, brown tabby with a very attractive face and markings. Binga gets great pleasure in grooming our kittens in the Adoption Rooms and she would be a gentle loving example for a younger cat or would be fine as an "only" with you providing all the love and attention. Binga has been at the shelter for 20 months and is very eager to meet her new family! Terry: (2 years old). Arrived March 2011: Very playful boy who loves to cuddle with other cats. He is quite shy at first and needs to be adopted with one of his UCHS friends-- Denver (inset) is his BFF they live in the same cage and enjoy each other immensely-- or into a home with a cat who will be his cuddle buddy. When he is familiar with a person he is very sweet and affectionate, but he gains a lot of comfort and confidence from his feline friends. Terry has gorgeous longer hair which he is very adept at keeping very tidy and sleek. It should be noted that Terry is very shy at first and may run from you or struggle if you do pick him up. A new family would have to be very gentle and not at all aggressive with him. He is independent to a degree but only with cats he knows well. Lily: (3 years old). Arrived June 2011: Is a very cute, playful, chubby girl. She prefers the company of people to other cats, but will tolerate most cats if necessary. Despite her rotund stature, Lily loves to chase after toy mice and plastic springs and is quite agile at getting them out from under the cages. Lily would love a home where she can use a scratching post, lounge near a window and get some affection bestowed upon her from loving people. Barbara: (2 years old). Arrived June 2011: Has gorgeous dilute tortoiseshell markings and a very cute face. She loves to have her neck scratched and gets very excited about seeing her friends at the Shelter. Barbara would love to find a home with owners who have a bit of patience and don't feel the need to maul her. She loves getting attention from people but is still nervous of being picked up, as she sadly spent the early months of her life not being cared for. Barbie is very playful and interacts well with other cats. Gracie: (6 years old). Arrived Sept 2011: Is a super polydactyl! She has lots of extra toes on each foot and loves to show them off. Luckily she is good about getting her toenails cut! She is a very sweet, pretty girl who loves to be petted and cuddled. Gracie has a very tiny, high pitched meow which is very endearing. She gets along well with other cats and dogs, and would be a wonderful addition to any home environment.
