The former Martha Anne Bowman in her 93rd year. Preceded in death by her husband Dr. Alastair Burnett and her son, Sgt. John Alastair Burnett. Dear mother of Dr. Elizabeth Rogers (Lawrence) and Robert Burnett (Sandy). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Kristine Nickles, Jennifer Bell, Colin Rogers, Sara Rogers, Josh Hayes, Anna Burnett and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers William (Bill) Bowman and Lt. John Bowman (KIA). Anne was born in 1919. She attended Waterloo Public School on the Fourth Line and later Georgetown High School. During World War Two, she proudly served as a wireless operator in the Royal Canadian Air Force-Women's Division. After the war, Anne received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Toronto. She was a social worker in Newfoundland and in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jack Van Bendegem, and the staffs of Mountainview Residence and the Bennett Health Care Centre for the excellent care they provided for the past eight years.
