At 7 p.m., at Holy Trinity High School, 2420 Sixth Line, the Halton Suicide Prevention Coalition (HSPC) and the Talking About Addictions and Mental Health (TAMI) program will host a presentation intended to help break the stigma associated with suicide, get people to talk openly about it and show how everyone has a role to play in its prevention. "Every year, World Suicide Prevention Day offers an opportunity to open the dialogue about suicide," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. "I hope Halton residents will take advantage of these free local events being offered by the coalition." The event will feature a presentation by a professional who will discuss suicide in Halton, the signs and symptoms that could indicate someone is suicidal and information about the community supports available for someone in crisis. A local resident will then share their own personal experience with suicide. "Silence hurts when it 1395 Abbeywood Drive, Unit 14.
