For more information, visit www.uwooakville.org. 20th Anniversary Saturday, September 29 At the open house you will have the opportunity to: TREMAINE RD 401 Volunteer for Pink Ribbon campaign The Canadian Cancer Society Halton Unit is getting ready to paint Halton pink this fall with its annual Pink Ribbon Days Scheduled to take place from Thursday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 30, Pink Ribbon Days will see Canadian Cancer Society volunteers collect donations and distribute pink ribbons throughout the community to raise funds and awareness for breast health funded by the Society. Volunteers are currently sought to assist as Pink Ribbon ambassadors and site co-ordinators. The ambassadors are needed for a two-hour shift at various retail stores across the region to collect donations and hand out ribbons. These volunteers are asked to sign up with a friend, family member or neighbor for their selling shift. Ambassadors are asked to engage the general public by encouraging them to make a donation. This is a great volunteer opportunity for service clubs, church groups and high school students looking for their service hours. Volunteer shifts take place on the following days and times: · Thursday, Sept. 27 -- noon-2 p.m.; 2-4 p.m.; 4-6 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. · Friday, Sept. 28 -- noon-2 p.m.; 2-4 p.m.; 4-6 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. · Saturday, Sept. 29 -- 9-11 a.m.; 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; 1-3 p.m.; and 3-5 p.m. · Sunday, Sept. 30 -- noon-2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. For a detailed listing of the shifts and locations that are currently available in Oakville, Burlington and Milton, visit www.wix.com/ccshaltonunit/ pinkribbon. Site co-ordinators act as the main point of contact for volunteers who are out in the community collecting donations. They oversee one retail venue and the volunteers scheduled on a particular day. Co-ordinators will deliver and distribute supplies to volunteers, occasionally check in on the site to ensure there are sufficient supplies and return materials to the Halton Unit at the end of the day. Site co-ordinators must be able to drive and have access to a reliable vehicle.
