When asked what keeps him up at night, Nixon said that in the financial world the unknown is most challenging. "You can plan for a bad credit environment or plan for bad markets, but when you look at what has happened since 2007, on a regular basis, we have been surprised with a lot of events that one would not be able to forecast or predict," said Nixon. "We still live in a very uncertain world where there is going to be a lot of surprises. Europe is a big concern and how Europe is going to get out of its current difficult environment, but there are problems elsewhere in the world including south of the border in the U.S., which certainly has some structural challenges going forward." Nixon said he expects Ontario and the rest of Canada to experience small economic growth in the near future, stating estimates that Ontario will grow somewhere between two and 2.5 per cent during 2013 and 2014 are reasonable. "That does provide lots of opportunities for businesses," he said. "One of the things we in Canada have to do better is find ways to take advantage of global growth outside the U.S." (behind Terra Greenhouses, Hwy. #5) Lower Base Line Celebrating 20 Years of Environmentally Safe Waste Management!
