The keeper played in six of Western's first eight games, posting wins over Madonna University of Michigan, Queen's, Ontario Institute of Technology and McMaster. Earlier this year, Edgar won provincial high school AAAA gold with the Holy Trinity Titans and the U18 Ontario Cup championship with the Oakville Titans. Local 12U and 11U ball teams collide in final A pair of Oakville Little League allstar teams concluded successful seasons by meeting in the championship game of the Dundas Major September Classic baseball tournament earlier this month. The Oakville Whitecaps 12-under team posted a convincing victory over its younger Whitecaps 11U opponents, 17-0. The win capped a 4-1 tournament showing for the 12U team. Oakville downed the Thornhill Selects 10-0 and the Burlington Bears 14-5 before falling 7-4 to the Ancaster Cardinals in roundrobin play, then blanked the Erindale Lions 10-0 in the semifinals. Members of the 12U Whitecaps team are Brian Bowman, Zach Dera, Cameron Dyck, Steven Hospital, Nicholas Jaeggin, Kevin Longhurst, Carson MacCormac, Andrew Opar, Josh Saufl, James St. Louis, Jacob Schuurman and Jack Swanson. Jim Saulf, Jeff Longhurst and Mike MacCormac coach the team, and Katherine Longhurst is the manager. The 11U Whitecaps managed to reach the final despite playing all their games against opponents a year older than them. Oakville rose to the challenge with a 6-3 win over the 12U Whitecaps, a 15-3 victory over the Dundas Tigers and a 2-1 loss to Erindale in round-robin action. The 11U Whitecaps edged Ancaster 2-1 in the semis. Members of the 11U Whitecaps are Emily Baxter, Mike Cummings, Matthew DeMita, Noah Levine, Mitchel Morrison, Alex Pain, Rishi Pandeya, Jibran Qureshi, Nathan Shute, Colin Skov, Daniel Symonds and Bernn Tabuyog.
