The event also boasted ask-the-trainer and ask-the-vet sessions, canine first-aid demonstrations, nail trimming, raffles and an art sale. All proceeds support the work of The Dog Rescuers Inc., an all-volunteer organization co-founded by Joan Znidarec and Mano Krueger, who along with their team of volunteers, have collectively been rescuing dogs, from the tiniest of breeds to the largest of hounds, for 20 years. The group, which can be reached through www. thedogrescuersinc.ca, currently has 27 canines up for adoption -- it places about 120 dogs in new homes annually.
