St. Matthew's Victoria Corbett earned her third victory in four years, winning the midget girls A division at the Halton Catholic District School Board elementary crosscountry meet. Corbett won her division in both 2009 and 2010. After a second-place finish last year, she reclaimed her title this year. Finishing second was her St. Matthew teammate Andrea Wallin. Their one-two finish helped St. Matthew claim a meet high four division titles. Mother Teresa won three divisions and Pope John Paul II earned a pair of division wins. MOVIN' ON UP: The Oakville Soccer Club boys' under-14 team won the South Region Soccer League Elite Division League and League Cup titles. The wins earn the team a promotion to Ontario Youth Soccer League next season. The team also won all three tournaments it entered this season, including one in Michigan. U-14 boys sweep league titles After winning every tournament it entered this season, the Oakville Soccer Club boys under-14 boys' team swept the South Region Soccer League titles with a pair of convincing victories. Aidan Wood and Alex Zis each scored twice as Oakville blanked Niagara Falls 6-0 to win the League Cup title. Lorenzo Podda and Quintin McLeary also scored for Oakville while Brandon Kerr recorded the clean sheet. The team secured the SRSL Elite Division league title on the final day of the season, blanking Mississauga Croatia 5-0. The team's victory earned it a promotion to the Ontario Youth Soccer League next season. "It has been an exceptional year for these players and for me as a coach. To see them develop and show character and mental toughness has been the highlight of my year," said coach Chris Grierson. "They have all worked extremely hard and I look forward to building and competing in the OYSL next year." The team also won two pre-season tournaments and a tournament in Michigan. Other members of the team are: captain Frank Bosco, Michael Pupulin, Ryan Haire, Joaquin Da Silva, Nicolas Casola, Patrick Fredeen, Liam Murphy, Frank Bosco, Dusan Kovacevic, Jacob Thierren, Brandon Kerr, Seihun Kim and Thomas Wookey.
