Roy was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario. Beloved husband of Edith for nearly 57 years. Loving father to Lesley (Loyd) Nicholson, Diane (Fred) Gage, Eric (Dawn) Hughes, Tyrone (Sandra) Hughes and Niles Hughes. Will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Ryan, Meagan and Joel Gage, Michael and Sarah Hughes, Rory, Aaron and Hayley Nicholson along with his great-grandchild Brodie Pollock. Roy is predeceased by his parents May and Arthur Hughes of Oakville and predeceased by his siblings Lily and Reggie. Roy is survived and missed by his siblings Winnie (Jack) McKay, Charlie (Betty) Hughes and William Hughes. Dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Roy was a proud Naval Reservest with HMCS York for over 30 years, as well as a retired employee of CGT (formerly Monsanto) for 44 years. Roy was an avid motorcycling enthusiast and very much enjoyed the outdoors, including time spent at his cabin on Elephant Lake. Many thanks to Dr. Corinne Breen for her excellent care and the caring staff of 4 East of OTMH during his illness. A celebration of Roy's life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 318 Queen Mary Drive, Oakville. She was predeased by her loving husband Stephen in 1987 and her daughter Lorraine in 2002. (Jack) October 28, 1932 - October 4, 2012 Passed away peacefully in his sleep a t O a k v i l l e Tr a f a l g a r M e m o r i a l Hospital (OTMH) with his sons by his side. Born in Montreal, he was a dedicated family man and community volunteer. Jack leaves behind his two sons David and Joel, both sources of great pride for him throughout his life. Also mourning his loss are Cyndy (David) and Nancy (Joel) and his three grandchildren, Adam, Rebecca and Carling. He will also be dearly missed by his twin sister Jill in Florida and her family. He enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world with his wife of 54 years Marion (pre-deceased June 8, 2012). Jack achieved significant professional success in the financial sector where he spent the majority of his career. Long time residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake, they had a strong network of close and supportive friends made over the course of time. Thanks to the staff at OTMH who provided a caring and dignified atmosphere for Jack and his family. A private memorial for Jack's life will be held at a later date.
