Part of the Sharing the Vision Campaign, a Lions global effort taking place in October, it focuses on the importance of healthy vision. World Sight Day is today (Oct. 11), and to raise awareness, Yeung will be collecting used eyeglasses as part of the Lions Recycle For Sight program. Donations will be accepted for the entire month of October. The collected glasses will be cleaned and prepared for distribution in developing countries where eye care is often unaffordable and inaccessible. Residents are urged to look through dresser drawers and closets for used eyeglasses and donate them.
