Binnington was named the College Hockey America co-goaltender of the week after stopping all 18 shots she faced in Friday's 2-0 victory over Brown. It was the Oakville native's third shutout in six starts. The sophomore netminder is 4-1-1 with a .914 save percentage and a 1.88 goalsagainst average that ranks third in the conference. Last season, as RIT's back-up netminder, she was a perfect 10-0-0, with a 0.95 average and .942 save percentage as RIT won the NCAA Division III championship. RIT is 5-4-2 in its first season of Division I hockey. Moodie earns SUNYAC award Luke Moodie had seven points in two games to earn the State University of New UNIVERSITYSPORTS York Athletic Conference hockey player of the week award. Friday, Moodie set up a goal and later scored the game winner in the third period of the Lakers' 5-4 win over Buffalo State. The next night, he scored three times and assisted on two others for a career-best fivepoint night in a 7-1 victory over Fredonia. Last week, the former Oakville Blade scored in a 5-1 victory over Morrisville to record his 100th career point. His third goal against Fredonia was the 50th goal of his career. Moodie shares the conference lead in points (19) and his nine goals rank second. Hornets rally to tie Bluewater The Oakville Hornets rallied for a 2-2 tie with the Bluewater Hawks Friday in Provincial Women's Hockey League action at Joshua's Creek Arenas. The Hornets trailed 2-0 in the second period but Victoria Medeiros scored to cut the deficit in half and Jessica Prevette netted the equalizer with 3:16 to go in regulation. Oakville outshot the Hawks 30-14 on the evening, including 14-3 in the third period. Kierra Lambertucci was in goal for the Hornets, making 12 stops. Oakville is now 1-6-3 on the season but has earned points in three of its last four games.
