The Courages are hoping this year's edition of the dip, which attracts people from across Oakville, Canada, and even the U.S., will hit the $1-million mark raised for World Vision water projects. By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Time to take a `Courage Dip' on New Year's Day waves and a killer chill. "This is the coldest weather we've ever had with Breakfast Television," said Todd. "The waves weren't so bad, but it was the wind. It goes right through you." He admitted, the New Year's Day dip has seen worse weather, but the Courage brothers would prefer something gentler this year when approximately 800 participants jump into the lake during the annual fundraiser for World Vision Canada. "The weather is, what the weather is," Todd said. "My personal Todd and Trent Courage have seen all kinds of weather during their annual Courage Polar Bear Dip, which happens at Coronation Park every New Year's Day. It just makes it more festive and it makes it a true polar bear dip. But you never know what you're going to get." This year, the annual event will surpass the $1-million fundraised mark for World Vision, since 1995. World Vision uses the money for water projects around the world, providing clean drinking water in impoverished communities.
