MCGRATH, Valerie October 31, 1928 - January 7, 2013 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Va l e r i e M c G r a t h , w i f e , m o t h e r a n d g r a n d m o t h e r. Va l e r i e d i e d peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on January 7, 2013. Valerie is survived by her loving husband Bernard, her son, Niall (Bernadette) and d a u g h t e r, A n n ( C a t h y ) a n d g r a n d c h i l d r e n . I n 1 9 5 5 Va l e r i e emigrated to Canada where she spent time in both Montreal and Ontario before arriving in Gibsons in 1990. Valerie was very active within the Women's Hospital Auxiliary in Montreal, Oakville and on the Sunshine Coast. She had just received her 20 year pin for service. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gibsons on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 'Doctors without Borders' or the SPCA.
