Irvine, Dorothy Georgina Alexandra Newman (Died)

IRVINE, Dorothy Georgina Alexandria Newman (January 25th, 1917, Bobcaygeon, Ontario- March 21st 2007, Oshawa, Ontario). Peacefully at Hillsdale Terrace after a short and courageous struggle at the age of 90. To the end, Dorothy showed grace, dignity and always a loving concern for friends and family. Her wonderful spirit, humor and outspokenness will be sadly missed by her loving family. She leaves behind daughter Margaret-anne and husband Greville Bowles of Rockwood, Ontario. Grandma Dot will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Alan Cunliffe and Suzie Cunliffe-Brown and husband Alvin Brown. Beloved "G-Diddy" to her precious greatgrandchildren, Kami, Delante, Mohogany and Ebony Brown and her extended family of Inez Brandon. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always her greatest joy and sense of pride and her passing will leave a great void in the family lives. Dorothy is also survived by her younger sister Elaine Martin of Norwood, many loved nieces and nephews, her friends at Hillsdale Terraces and is predeceased by her brother Bud Newman and sister, Viola Kellett. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, March 26th at 2:00P.M. until time of funeral Service to celebrate her life in the Chapel at 3:00P.M. Interment to follow in the spring where Dorothy will finally be reunited with her parents in her beloved Bobcaygeon, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations directed in Dorothy's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
