Clipping of Article: (no date) ALDERSHOT - A sorrowing community paid its last respects to a well-known and highly respected resident on Friday afternoon last, when the funeral of J. M. Bowen was held from his residence to the Hamilton mausoleum. Hundreds gathered at the home, and the many beautiful floral tributes were a silent testimony to the esteem in which Mr. Bowen was held by all who knew him. Rev. J. T. Heslop, of East Plains United Church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Hunt, of Hespeler, a former pastor, conducted the services. The pall-bearers were Geo. [George] B. Filman, Archie Mullock, Charles Flatt, J. M. Alderson, Alex Campbell and Charles Hopper, all members of Wentworth County council, and with whom Mr. Bowen had been associated in conducting East Flamboro [Flamborough] Township affairs during the past several years.
