John Filman settled in the area between Kings Road, now Greenwood Drive, and Indian Point. Resided in and built the present Willow Bank. Dave Filman married Violetta Kern. They had one son and three daughters: Lee married Etta Colton; resides on Maple Ave., Burlington. Mabel married John Mitchell. Flossie unmarried, resides on Locust St., Burlington Edna unmarried (deceased) Dave settled in area from Greenwood Drive (Kings Road) to Campbell's Corners and resided in Henry Mann's house, which still stands. George Filman, son of Josh Filman had four children: Vera married Grant Eaton and resides at Carlisle. William, unmarried, lives in Aldershot. Marion married Roy Brooks and resides in Aldershot Peggy married George Borer and resides on the Dundas Highway. William had one son by his first marriage, Oscar, who lives in the home on Eagle Drive. The farm has been sold and many homes now occupy the site. William raised beagle hounds and won many ribbons and fame at various meets, the following is copied from "Gleanings from the Gazette of October 23, 1935": "A young derby beagle hound, owned by William Filman, Aldershot, is setting something of a record for winning judges' favor this year. The dog, Yankee Leader, was first in the 15-inch A.A. two-hour hare stake, also first on bench at the Central Beagle Club, and first in the 15-inch derby in the Hamilton field trials this month." About 1928, George Filman became interested in Real Estate and opened and developed several surveys in Aldershot and vicinity; among them, the Hidden Valley Park area, and the Scheer farm and Griner place.
