THE KLODT FAMILY - Descendants of Fonger Family David Fonger came from Germany in 1783. He settled on Crown Land, described as Part of Lot 5, on the Broken Front, East Flamboro. He was the first settler in Aldershot and a direct descendant of Mrs. Henry Klodt, formerly Sarah Jane Johnson. In the year 1830, David Fonger's son named David, came out from Germany and settled on his father's land, now called Concession Number 1, instead of the Broken Front. He also had a son called David who married Katherine C. Cline of Nelson. They were married in the Methodist Church in Nelson.
