LEMON Thomas Lemon and his wife (nee Budge) accompanied by his elderly mother, six sons and a daughter moved to the Plains from Lynden. Two sons, John and Charles were twins, third eldest. John married Ida May Scheer who was born May 8, 1872 and died April 30, 1927. Their family consisted of Frederick Roy born Dec. 19, 1895 who married Margaret Ellen Cunningham. Russell Alexander born March 1, 1905 married Olive Blanche Langton. Dorothy Elizabeth was the only daughter. Frederick and Margaret had two sons, John Frederick who married Mary Sidock. They have three daughters, Sharon, Susanne and Shelley. The second son was William who married Laurene Wheelton. They have two sons, Terry and Robert and a daughter Debra. Thomas Lemon and his sons were all gardeners in the Aldershot area, Lemonville being named after their settlement. Alfred the oldest son and James the youngest discouraged by an early frost that wiped out all their crops in the 1890's left for California where they stayed married and ended their lives. Allan, John, Charles and William remained here. Allan married Nettie Scheer, a sister of John's wife. Charles married Martha Hopkins. Their family were Austin, Lils and Elwood. William married Mary Hayward. Their family were Jessie, Edna, Archie, Murray, Clayton and Mary - also an adopted daughter Jean. Jessie Lemon only daughter of Thomas, married Frederick Gardiner. They had one daughter Annie who married Charled [Charles] McCoy who live in the original home. Six generations of Lemons have lived in this area.
