The Scheer Family Charles Scheer came from Germany at the age of six. He married Elizabeth and they had a family of eleven children, five boys and six girls: Nettie married A. Lemon; their children were Frank, Clifford, Goldie and Carl. Charles Ida married John Lemon, their family, Fred, Dorothy and Russell. Albert married Mary Leckie, their family Ken and Beth who married Earl Brekon [Breckon?]. William married Elizabeth Leckie, their children were: Charles, Albert, Betty. Elizabeth died about Dec. 1913. William later married Lillian Humphrey, their family were Margaret, and Joyce. [George] Head and resided in Hamilton, but are now in California. They had two children, Allan & Margaret. Roy married Shirley Ibbetson of Hamilton, they had seven children, Victor, Kay twins, June and Lois, Eddie, Bob and Murray. Erna single still living in Aldershot. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scheer lived at the gate house belonging to the late Peter Carroll. Mr. Scheer worked at the Wonzer Sewing Machine Company in Hamilton and walked to work and back every day for the sum of one dollar per day. Besides looking after her family, Mrs. Scheer found time to help Lady Carroll with her sewing, and Charlie kept himself out of mischief by opening and closing the gate for the people who visited the Carrolls. Mr. Scheer purchased two acres of land from the Hendrie Estate and went into gardening.
