In 1913, Mr. and Mrs. Scheer celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary and a wonderful event it was, and one to be proud of, as by this time most of the family were married and comfortably settled. The boys, with the exception of Charlie, who went to the States as a locomotive engineer, stayed in Aldershot on farms of their own. Mr. and Mrs. Scheer were very much interested in community life and were much endeared by all who knew them. The homestead was sold in 1938 to Mr. & Mrs. Forbes and made into apartments. It has been re-sold again. If Mr. and Mrs. Scheer were here to-day, they would be very proud to see the results of their hard work, in their daughters and sons and grandchildren and great-grandchildren who also served the community well and still carry on.
