Maich, whose past endeavours include such managing roles as board director for Big Brothers of Metro Toronto, president and board director of Silcorp, and managing director and president of Colgate (Africa) Ltd., said he is looking forward to continuing the board's work. "I was really pleased of course," said Maich. "Looking back on the past year, it was a year of accomplishment. "Finding and recruiting a new chief and then transitioning from (former Halton Police Chief) Gary Crowell after his stellar career. I have to give a lot of credit to the whole police team and the acting chief and both the deputies." fourth term as vice-chair. "I'm pleased to serve on the board and work with Bob to provide all the support this excellent service needs," said Hammell. "I look forward to another good year." Maich said one of the major projects this year will be to update the Halton Police Services Board's three-year strategic corporate plan. Hammell said the plan would give new Halton Police Chief Stephen Tanner the opportunity to choose some of the police service's future priorities. 9 · Friday, February 1, 2013 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com "Looking back on the past year, it was a year of accomplishment.
